An update on Group Trustee nominations 2025

  • The term of three of the existing Group Trustees will end on 30 September 2025.

  • Earlier in 2025 we invited members to put themselves forward to fill these vacancies.

  • The nomination window is now closed and we are reviewing the nominations.

  • An election will be held since there are more candidates than vacancies.

  • We will announce the successful candidates in summer and their term will start on 1 October 2025.

Who are member nominated trustees?

Member nominated trustees are members of the RWE Group who have put themselves forward to represent their fellow members as Group Trustees.

Like all of our Group Trustees they are responsible for representing more than 24,000 members and helping to manage over £4 billion in assets. They are a vital part of our team as they bring direct experience of what it is like being a member.

Earlier this year we invited contributing and pensioner members to put themselves forward to join us as a Group Trustee. It is an opportunity for members to share their unique perspectives at a board level and represent their fellow members.

The nomination window closed on 7 April 2025. Thank you to everyone who put themselves forward and for taking the time to do so. We appreciate that it is a big decision and a big commitment.

When will our next Group Trustees be chosen?

We are currently reviewing the nominations. The terms of three existing Group Trustees are coming to an end and there will now be an election in April or May since there is more than one candidate for the contributing member vacancy and there are more than two candidates for the pensioner member vacancies.  Civica Election Services (formerly the Electoral Reform Services) will manage the election. All members, including deferred members, can vote.

We will introduce you to any new Group Trustees later this year.

What is in store for any new Group Trustees?

Being a Group Trustee is a big responsibility and any new Group Trustees are well supported and well trained. We will provide the successful nominees with training to help them in their new role. Plus they will receive ongoing support from a team of advisers.

Their term will start on 1 October 2025.
